Why and How Should we Focus on Learning Instead of Teaching?

Many teachers ask themselves, research and take courses in order to find out which is the best way to teach English. What is the problem with this question? Teachers focus on themselves and not the students. By posing this question teachers do not involve the students in their learning, and they forget an essential question; how my students learn.
